Overview
Quinta Amada is a small, family-run Bed and Breakfast nestled in the hills of Tlaxcala, Mexico (75 miles from Mexico City). Native Tlaxcalan Jaime Sanchez and his American wife, Sharon, offer lodging, full complimentary breakfast, local tours and day trips, and cultural and tourist information.
All of our bright, spacious rooms include a sitting area and private tiled bath. Amenities include a guest lounge and kitchenette, computer access, and WiFi. The terrace affords panoramic views of Tlaxcala and three majestic volcanoes. Nearby attractions include the archeological site of Cacaxtla; Cholula, home to the world's largest pyramid; and Puebla, a colonial gem famous for its unique cuisine and decorative Talavera tile. Tlaxcala city offers tranquil, small-town colonial charm, lovely 16th and 17th century architecture, several museums, a traditional open-air market, and many lively fairs and festivals. Day trips include tours of ex-haciendas and prehistoric rock paintings in the area.

Location & area
We are located in a traditional Mexican town just outside of the historic capital city of Tlaxcala in central Mexico (75 miles from Mexico City and 20 miles from Puebla).
Our hillside location affords beautiful panoramic views of nearby towns and snow-capped volcanoes. You can hike and bike in the wooded hills behind our home. This is an historically and culturally rich area, the place where Hernán Cortés allied with the native Tlaxcalans to defeat the Aztecs. Nearby are ruins of ancient pyramids as well as prehistoric rock paintings and petroglyphs.
The indigenous heritage mixed with Spanish influence is still alive and evident in the many festive celebrations such as Day of the Dead, Carnival, Christmas Posadas, Holy Week processions, Patron Saints' Days, as well as in traditional foods, handicrafts, folk dance and music.
