Overview
"Villa Chacala Thai Pad" is the most unique house you will find in Chacala, fusing the artistic Asian cultural designs with the happy colourful Mexican concepts. Thai Pad has been renovated downstairs, with brand new construction upstairs. It is designed to close off into 2 separate residences or if you wish to rent the total house for that special group get together of friends and family. It boasts new décor, with a total of 4 bedrooms, plus 2 sofa beds to sleep an additional 4 people, 4 ½ baths, 2 kitchen home with ocean view top deck, in the quiet, laid-back and best kept secret village of Chacala, Nayarit just 45 minutes north of Sayulita and 70 minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta airport. Located just steps from one of the most beautiful, safe swimming beaches on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, this unique villa has ocean and mountain views and is completely furnished with hand-crafted furniture and decor by local artists and craftsmen. The use of classic Mexican tile roof throughout the house gives it an old world charm that flows through onto the breezy balcony on the second floor, where you can watch the life of the village below you.
We also have a spiral staircase to a large roof pavilion, and a seating area where you can take in the sea breezes. You'll have a view of the village, palm fringed beach and surrounding mountain and jungle.
In the kitchens you will find basic service for six in each, (total 12), gas stoves, coffee maker, microwave oven, toaster, blender, refrigerator, and bottled water for drinking and cooking. We have provided our guests with plenty of colorful break resistant glasses and dishes so they may enjoy balcony and or sundeck dining and refreshments.
The upstairs master bedroom has a comfortable Queen-size bed with mosquito net for romantic evenings indoors. The second bedroom has two double beds. All beds have soft sheets, colourful comforters and fluffy down pillows. It is the perfect setting for either an afternoon siesta or a full night's sleep with the sound of the ocean lulling you to sleep. Plenty of closets and drawers are provided for our guests.
Ceiling fans keep the already cool house refreshed and air-conditioning is available during the very hot weather. Since we are situated right by the beach, the ocean keeps those breezes coming and this house remains cool even during the hot weather. Air-conditioning is rarely needed.
Throughout the villa and balcony/sundeck area are large potted flowering plants enhancing the look and feel of a tropical setting. The patio balcony/sundeck areas are breathtaking, so it is a pleasure to relax and inhale the ocean scents as well as surrounding mountain jungle views with flowering ancient trees abounding. Sip your morning coffee in the cozy hammock chair and read a good book, while listening to the birds and local roosters announce a bright new day.
The downstairs area offers a refreshing respite from the heat of the day. Cold cervezas and guacamole up at the bar? Or naptime in the cool recess of the back rooms.
The villa is cozy, yet offers a large family enough room for everyone to enjoy privacy. Large bedrooms, open floor plan from kitchen to indoor living area, moving right out to the patio, or a quick jont upstairs to glimpse the vibrant green mountains cascading into the glistening blue ocean bay in front of you, with palapa restaurants dotting the white sand. It's a vacation dream to be this close to ocean paradise.

Unless you like the sounds of chickens and roosters (24 hours a day) and can sleep through anything, DO NOT STAY HERE. There was bird crap everywhere and you could not get a good night's sleep.
Everything they own has a 'FOR SALE' sign on it. I figure they are raking in what $ they can before they up and leave.
We cut our stay by 4 days but were still charged for those days (peak season rates, even though there was nobody there!). Scam artists at best.
Lindy handles business and Mike cowers behind her. Too funny.
Anyhow, please do yourself a favor and let folks know to avoid this residence.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.

Couldn't get a decent night's sleep with roosters in my window all night. Couldn't have a decent conversation during the day. You know you are in trouble when the owners supply earplugs as standard equipment and have everything, including the Thai Pad itself, for sale.
We cut short our stay, at our expense, to leave and get a decent night's sleep and get away from the noise and filth of the roosters and chickens that reside right next door at night and in the day are all over the Thai Pad. The droppings and feathers everywhere is at the least unsanitary and have to be a health hazard.
Chacala is a beautiful town with a wonderful beach and people. JUST DON'T STAY AT THAI PAD if you want to enjoy it.
