Try a self-guided walking tour of Newboro or the nearby villages of Portland, Elgin, and Delta. Visit Delta's Old Stone Mill museum, a Rideau Canal blockhouse, the Rideau District Museum in Westport, the Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario and the Rideau Canal Museum in Smiths Falls, Matheson House (Perth Museum) in Perth, Old Fort Henry in Kingston, or Upper Canada Village near Morrisburg. Two nearby lakes, Upper Rideau Lake and Newboro Lake, offer opportunities for boating and sport fishing. Three provincial parks and many conservation areas provide extensive opportunities for hiking, picnicking, swimming, and more. Golf enthusiasts will find a number of nearby courses to challenge their skills. An Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs feeder trail runs through the village. Nearby West Winds Ranch offers summer outdoor fun for the entire family with trail rides, a petting zoo, and a “Get Lost!” corn maze. Newboro House offers two bedrooms with queen beds and one bedroom with a pair of twin beds that can also be converted to a king bed. All are furnished with comfortable contemporary furniture, luxurious Kingsdown pillow-top mattresses, and high thread count sheets and plush terry towels made of whisper-soft Egyptian cotton. Our microfibre pillows and blankets are all feather-light, warm, and non-allergenic. Complimentary 100% cotton shawl-collar robes are also provided for guest use. A clock-radio/CD player with dual alarm is available in each room. Hairdryers are available in the main bathrooms. The guest sitting room holds a television with satellite hook-up, a selection of games and puzzles, and an eclectic library of fiction and nonfiction books. In the breakfast room, a microwave oven and mini-fridge are available for guest use. Packaged snacks, juices, and soft drinks are available at any time on an honour-pay self-serve basis. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the Newboro House gardens and grounds.

Trade Breakfast for Lunch: If you prefer just to have a cup or coffee or tea before heading out for morning fishing or an early golf round, we’d be pleased to trade our full breakfast for a light lunch of a sandwich on our home-baked bread, accompanied by a bowl of freshly made soup or salad. Just let us know at the time of booking if you would like to make this trade. Packed Lunches to Go: For a reasonable additional charge, we’ll happily provide you with a packed hiker’s lunch (sandwich, fruit, trail mix, beverage) or a more substantial picnic feast (entrée, one or more salads, homebaked bread, dessert, beverage). Please give us at least 72 hours’ notice to make the necessary preparations. Pricing varies. Homestyle Dinners (October to May only): Make your cool-weather weekend or weekday getaway complete with a cozy dinner served just when you want it after a day of hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, or ice-fishing. For $30 per person (all taxes included), enjoy an appetizer, a main dish with appropriate accompaniments, and dessert. Ask about possible choices at the time of booking, which must be at least 72 hours in advance to allow us to make the necessary preparations.
