6 hours from both Vancouver and Calgary, Mara Lake is located in the Northern Okanagan and is part of the Shuswap Lakes.
Swansea Point is built on a large sand delta in Mara Lake at the base of the Hunter Mountain Range and is a small community of summer cottages, cabins and year round homes. The Point is surrounded by sand with 7 public access sites to the lake, 6 are public beaches and one is a boat launch.

In the style of a traditional in-law-suite the cabin is adjacent to the main house and garage with one bedroom, one bathroom, and an open living room and kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, refridgerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans, dishes and cutlery as well as a table that seats 4 (not pictured). The living room has a television with cable and free wireless internet. A sofa bed and roll-away cot allow the cabin to sleep five (linens and blankets provided). The bedroom has a double bed and the 3 piece bathroom with shower is newly renovated. The cabin is always spotlessly clean and bright.

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
