Overview
Just 5 minutes south of Mara Lake along the peaceful Shuswap River. This Canada Select 4-Star Cottage is the Historic Mara Train Station c.1892 has recently been restored and converted for guest accommodation. The cottage has 2 bed/1 bath and sleeps 4 with a Full Kitchen, livingroom, TV, internet connection, and french doors leading to the deck overlooking the Shuswap River. The Master bedroom offers a queen bed with door leading to the deck and views to Shuswap River. The guest bedroom offers accommodation for 2 in twin bunkbeds. We offer our week-long guests a greeting of home-made bread, jam, eggs, cream and organic eggs to start you vacation!
This train station was once a part of the historic Shuswap-Okanagan Railway. It was moved several years ago away from the tracks,to its present riverside location, however 2 trains a week still operate on the railway track, providing train enthusiasts with the full experience of staying in the train station.
