Overview

The Heartwood is one of Alberta's finest Country Inns, and enjoys the distinction of being the area's only 3 Diamond Property. Known for its charm and soothing Spa Treatments, it is located in the Canadian Badlands, in Drumheller. Central to all conveniences and attractions, the Inn offers a relaxing old world atmosphere, intermingled with modern amenities and turn of the century antiques. While the Inn's Art Gallery is favoured by several Western Canadian Artists, the Manor also boasts of an extensive display of heritage woodwork.



All rooms have cable TV, air conditioning, and wireless internet, while most of them, including the separate honeymoon cottage, have their own sitting area, whirlpool tub, and fireplace. Some have private entrance and wheel chair accessibility. Rooms are priced as double occupancy, children 13 and under are free, with a $10.00 surcharge for each additional adult, or use of a cot or foamie. For those that like to sleep-in, or rise early, we price a variety of breakfasts, separately from the room.

The Heartwood consisting of all eight rooms, can be booked off-season weekends for $850, or mid-week $700 per night. The Cottage, located behind the main building is available at an additional rate of $120, while the Chancel may be included for a group at an additional $180 (all pricing on a double occupancy basis). Children are extra. A 10% discount is available to small groups who book four or more rooms during off-season. (These rates are not available when large conventions or film crews are in town). Groups of 10 or more may arrange for a complete lunch for $9.95 cold , $12.95 hot per person, or dinner at $18.95 or $24.95 per person. $3.00 corkage may apply. A $49.00 fee is charged if the public areas of the Inn, or the board table are required for the day. Gratuity at your discretion. A full pancake breakfast, or eggs & cheddar, at $9.95 for adults, $7.95 for children, or a continental breakfast at $7.95 is available as well.

In addition to our romantic rooms, you may add our Silver Service Breakfast in Bed for two with fruit, nuts, chocolates and muffins at $23.95, or have a bottle of Champagne, along with Chocolates and Heartwood Souvenir Champagne Flutes set in your room , available at $65.00, or a full Romance Package including everything from the Silver Service in Bed, to the champagne, flutes, and chocolates, to flowers, and our popular Couples Massage for $249.00. Gift certificates for rooms and Spa are available year round.

Peak season and Shoulder bookings, April to October generally require a two-day booking on Saturdays, while the rest of the week including Fridays or Sundays, only require one night. All rooms are subject to a 4% Hotel Tax and 7% GST. Smoking is permitted on any of the decks. Visa and Mastercard accepted. A strict 72 hour cancellation policy requiring a full charge, with a $15 transferable, non-refundable confirmation fee applies per room, per day. Large bookings require a 50% deposit, with a month cancellation required.

While in Drumheller be sure to allow time to visit the Royal Tyrrell Museum, Reptile World, the Antique Homestead Museum, East Coulee School Museum and the Atlas Coal Mine. If you are considering the Passion Play or the Rosebud Dinner Theatre, or the Spa at Heartwood, book well in advance. Drumheller is well known particularly for it's golf course set into the Badlands, full Day Digs, Dig Watches, amazing hiking, and dinosaurs in all shapes and sizes.
