Overview

Berllanderi, translated as 'Orchard of Oaks' is a seventeenth century farm complex located near the village of Raglan in the picturesque county of Monmouthshire.



The Coach House has been converted by sculptor Harvey Hood incorporating traditional and contemporary design. Every detail has been meticulously devised for practicality and aesthetic feel with respect to traditional building processes using oak, dressed stone and slate.



Detailed features such as the oak beamed ceilings, spiral staircase, underfloor heating and internally opening 'french style' windows create a unique and relaxing environment.



The entrance porch created for passive solar energy leads to the spacious living room (30 x 20 feet) with oak beamed
ceiling, oak floor, antique Welsh dresser, ample seating for eight people, television, video, DVD player and Hi-Fi.



A stone arch leads to the kitchen/dining room. This has oak beam trusses and a large church-like window, slate floor, scrubbed pine refectory table, carved slate cooker surround, Belfast sink, microwave, gas cooker, dishwasher and fridge-freezer.




Off the kitchen is the laundry with washing machine, sink and cloakroom with toilet, wash basin and power shower.



From the living room an oak spiral staircase takes you up to an open gallery bedroom with two single beds. On either
side doors lead to the two en-suite double bedrooms, both with baths. Another twin bedroom is downstairs off the living room with two single beds.




The coach house is fifty yards away from the farmhouse in its own landscaped area of lawn and mature trees with a patio area shaded by an oak tree. There is plenty of space for parking, barbecues and playing games.





Berllanderi is an ideal base for walking, climbing, canoeing, gliding and grass
skiing. There are many golf courses nearby as well as castles and historic towns.





From Berllanderi there are extensive views including Raglan Castle, the 'Sugarloaf'
and 'Skirrid' mountains The attractive towns of Usk, Monmouth and Abergavenny
are only a few miles away and offer a variety of restaurants and pubs. The Wye
Valley, Forest of Dean and Brecon Beacons are within easy reach.

The coach house is situated in the Usk Valley just one mile from Raglan. From the

Raglan traffic island follow the signpost towards Gwehelog Berllanderi is one and

quarter miles on the right. To the west lie the Brecon Beacons and the east the Wye

Valley and the Forest of Dean. Monmouth and Newport are close by, and Cardiff

and Bristol are within easy access. London is just two hours away by train
