Overview
Rhins of Galloway sits by the A77 in an acre and a half of lawned gardens, 20 yards from a shingle beach, and overlooking Loch Ryan. We offer Bed & Breakfast accommodation within a hotel setting (since we do not have a licensed bar, and our evening meals are only by prior arrangement, we are defined as a Guest House rather than a Hotel).
A one minute drive away from the Cairnryan ferry terminal and less than five minutes from Stranraer terminal, we are ideally located for the ferry services which run from Cairnryan to Larne (P&O), and Stranraer to Belfast (Stena Line).
The building has been under current ownership since May 2004, and although it has the scale and design that is expected of most hotels, it offers the friendliness and prices that define a quality Guest House or B&B. Whilst the bedrooms are decorated with contemporary furniture, the bedroom corridors and other communal areas provide a mix of antiques and modern design.
The food is simple and beautifully presented, providing quality at a reasonable price, and opened by the Duchess of Gloucester in 1943, the building itself has had a variety of uses, boasting a history that can make a place feel very special.
We have a range of single, twin, double and family accommodation units, together with a Garden Flat with its own entrance, offered as an alternative to the main bedrooms.
We have a large parking area and cars may be parked close to entrances to both main entrance and that of our Garden Flat, but although all accommodation is on the ground floor, there are several steps up to the main hotel, and a single step into the flat. The flat is not equipped for disabled use, but it has been used by wheelchair users, and said to be ideal.
The entire building is strictly non-smoking.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
