This is your property ?
Overview
Offering a convenient base to explore Ayrshire and beyond. Our lovely detached farm cottage has spectacular uninterrupted views of the Ayrshire countryside and is an ideal destination for couples and families alike.
Spend your days enjoying the many local attractions, the bustling seaside town of Ayr, Loudoun Castle theme park, Culzean Castle, Largs and Arran, are but a few examples. Visit Ayrshire's rugged coastline or enjoy a game of golf on one of Ayrshire's many courses. We are also ideally placed for fishing, walking and cycling. We are three miles from Failford, one of the passing places of the new River Ayr walkway which is a 44 mile route from the river's source at Glenbuck to Ayr.
Mauchline itself is of course famous for its Robert Burns' connections. It is home to the Burns Monument and the Burns Museum. Burns Crystal also has a factory shop here and the Many Thanks gift shop is stocked only with Scottish arts and crafts. There are pubs, restaurants, a bank and post office, great local butcher and a baker shop/cafe as well as a well stocked Co-op. Within a 10 miles radius there are also Tesco, Asda and Morrisons, and Overtoun Farm Cottage is within the delivery limits of both Tesco and Asda.
Although we are in a rural area, you are only 30 minutes away from Glasgow, 45 minutes to Loch Lomond and in just over an hour you can reach Edinburgh. The Borders and Dumfries and Galloway are close by too. With easy access to and from Ayrshire via the M6 (M74), and M8 routes we are in an ideal destination for those travelling up the M6, over from Ireland or down from the North of Scotland.
Our well equipped detached cottage is set away from the main farm and has spectacular uninterrupted views of the Ayrshire countryside. After a day spent sightseeing or shopping in Ayr, why not relax and enjoy all the home comforts our deceptively spacious cottage has to offer.
Currently graded 3 stars by Visit Scotland, we are also members of their Walkers and Cyclists Welcome schemes. As we are convenient for Prestwick Airport (7 miles), and Glasgow Airport (30 miles) a fly drive holiday with Ryanair or one of the other low cost airlines is entirely possible.
Accommodation comprises living room with magnificent views, kitchen with breakfast bar, through dining room which seats six, bathroom with shower over bath. There are two large bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other has a double bed with single over, therefore comfortably accommodating five. A foldaway bed can be provided on request at an extra charge of £20 per stay.
The fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. Storage is available in the garage which also contains a washing machine and tumble drier. There are two patio areas with furniture and off road parking for two cars. Enjoy a BBQ and watch the wildlife go by.
This cosy cottage is heated throughout by oil central heating, which is of course included in the rental, as are electricity, towels and bed linen. Beds are made up on arrival.
As we are new to the market we still have some availability for this summer. Special rates for July and August. Full weeks or short breaks are available with any start date. Discounts also apply for stays of more than 7 nights, giving you the opportunity to explore this lovely area of Scotland in depth.
We look forward to making your stay as pleasant as possible and if you require fishing permits, restaurant bookings or supermarket delivery we will be happy to arrange this and anything else for you.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
