Location & area
Turn of at Junction 8 of the M90 motorway (North bound- this is the junction after No 6 as there is no junction 7 northbound) and follow the A91 for St Andrews / Auchtermuchty.
You will pass through the small village of Gateside and approximately 2 or 3 miles after this village you take the turn off signposted for Falkland on the right hand side of the road. You will then follow a small country road for about 3 miles eventually coming to Falkland. The road bends to the right just as you come into Falkland and you then take the fist turn right into the high street.
You will turn up into the High Street passing Falkland Palace, a monument in the middle of the road and the church, pass the monument and keep straight on down the small hill. As you start to come back up the hill (The stag Inn will be on the right hand side) you will drive a further 50 yards to Bruce Buildings on the left hand side (you will see the sandstone building with the small turrets on the building, our property in on the ground floor and has the black granite pots with the small trees sitting either side of the front door). Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
