Location & area
THE EAST NEUK OF FIFE
Neuk is the old Scottish word for corner and the East Neuk of Fife is the name given to the wedge of land running
around the eastern peninsula of Fife.
The little village of Crail is known as the jewel in the crown amongst the string of fishing towns leading round the coast to the famous town of St Andrews.
A haven for artists and writers its peaceful and picturesque setting is a magnet for visitors to the east coast of Scotland. Here you will find whitewashed cottages with red pantiled roofs crowding into small winding streets that lead to the secluded harbour.
Crail is famous for the quality of the local crab and lobsters that are available for you to choose and have cooked for you on the spot.
The Watch House was built in 1782
and stands in an elevated position with superb sea views over to The Isle of May.
The Cupid Room is situated on the
top floor of the house and has three gothic arched windows overlooking the ocean. Large and spacious room with a built in window seat to enable you to enjoy the views. Crystal chandelier and dimmed lighting wonderful plaster work

From here a door leads out to the Castle Walk that leads down to the harbour area. Also on this level is the twin bedroom with window seat overlooking the sea. TV in room.
The Fife Coastal Path leads down from the house and is extremely popular with both locals and tourists. Although The Watch House sits on its own it is only a few minutes from the local pubs/hotels, shops and restaurants.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
