Rowantree Cottage Bed and Breakfast, Arrochar is located in a charming traditional Scottish stone cottage, originally built in 1850, to house estate workers for Luss estate.
The cottage is central to the village of Arrochar and overlooks Loch Long with magnificent views over the loch to Ben Arthur (The Cobbler) and the "Arrochar Alps". Loch Long is a tidal loch that extends 17 miles from Arrochar to the Firth of Clyde opposite Greenock.
The room accommodation is spacious with en-suite facilities. There is private off road parking.
Arrochar is at the northern end of The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Scotland's first National Park and has long been a popular centre for climbers, divers, mountain bikers, hill walkers, and fishermen of all abilities. It is also an ideal base to explore the surrounding areas of West Argyll, Cowal Peninsula, The Trossachs and most famous of all Loch Lomond. Take either of the trains that travel between Glasgow and Oban or Glasgow and Fort William as far as Arrochar and Tarbet station. On leaving the station turn right on A83 and follow the road into Arrochar.
Rowantree Cottage is the first white house on the right after the Breaside Stores and Post Office. The cottage is signed.
By Air
From Glasgow International Airport
Leave the Airport on the M8 motorway towards Greenock. At Junction 30 bear left towards the Erskine Bridge. After crossing the bridge take the A82 through Dumbarton and up Loch Lomond to Tarbet. At Tarbet take the A83 towards Arrochar, (1.6 miles). Rowantree Cottage is the first white house on the right after Breaside Stores and Post Office. The cottage is signed.
From Glasgow Prestwick Airport
Follow the signs A77/M77 signs for Glasgow. At M77 Junction 2 leave the motorway and follow the signs for M8 Motorway/Glasgow Airport/Greenock..
