Welcome to Dorset self catering holidays at the Quarterdeck in Swanage. Do you like beautiful coastline, great walks and the opportunity to combine this with the English seaside?

The Quarterdeck holiday home is perfect for family beach and walking holidays in Dorset.

Your Dorset self catering holiday home is located just 300 metres from Swanage beach in a prominent position overlooking the Dorset Jurassic Coast.


When we saw the pictures on the Internet, we knew we were in for a treat but when we got here it was idyllic. It made November feel like July!

A wonderful time was had by all! Nov 03

Spacious, bright house, lovely good atmosphere. A view to die for! Great kids and games room, kitchen very practical. We all had a fantastic family Christmas! Great steam train. Christmas 03

Third visit in two years to the Quarterdeck, You must be able to tell we like it here. The house is ideally suited for all our needs to make an enjoyable and relaxing break in dear old Swanage. Hope to come back soon Nov 04.





It is a larger than the usual holiday cottages in Dorset, with more space, better equipment and more modern furnishings than is usual in Swanage self catering cottages.


Your Swanage holiday accommodation includes 3/4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2/3 reception rooms - living room, dining room, playroom, a large garden, patio, balcony, sea views, sleeps 8 in beds plus 2 more on full size double sofabed


We loved the house, all this room was perfect and the kids loved the playroom. We now have to go back and double our mortgage to buy a bigger house July 04

Appreciated all of the bits in the house – loo rolls dishwasher tablets – an enormous asset. Loved the light in the house and the sun on the terrace. So comfy, home from home, everything is here. Sarah (aged 4) says “I just want to stay a bit longer” July 04






We have an official grading from the tourist board as a 3 star self catering holiday cottage in Dorset. We take this seriously and are seeking to make the house better all the time.


You will find the house free of clutter with modern, brand new IKEA furniture. It is large and works well for family and sociable holidays.

This website does not just show you the best aspects of our Swanage holiday house. (well, we did take the photos on a sunny day!). We have nothing to hide, you see it all here, we hope you will like it.





Available all year for self catering in Dorset, Normal bookings are Friday to Friday.

Weekend cottage breaks in Dorset are possible with 3 and 4 night short breaks available between October and April.




Sorry no pets can be accepted and no smoking is allowed.





Having been on self catering holidays where the cleaner had cleared the holiday cottage and we had to go and buy salt, washing up liquid etc., we resolved to make things easier. You will find the beds made up when you arrive, a supply of towels and we always leave the house with stocks of cleaning materials, loo rolls, tea, coffee and biscuits as well as basic condiments.





The Coop is only 5 minutes walk and has a great selection of everything you might need. It is also open from 8 am to 8 pm everyday except Sunday when it is open from 10 am to 4 pm.
Swanage has numerous pubs and restaurants, we have left details of the good and the bad in the house for you to discover and explore
