Overview

A self catering holiday cottage on the North Yorkshire Heritage coast. Perfect for a relaxing holiday yet near to plenty of facilities. The cottage enjoys open views of the sea and countryside. Sleeps 4 in a double and twin bedroom. There is a garden with a summerhouse. Good walks from the door and dogs are welcome. A short walk down a winding path leads to a sandy beach which extends for 8 miles. As well as walking you can enjoy surfing or horseriding lessons on the beach! There are also rockpools to explore, which children would enjoy.
The cottage is surrounded by National Trust land and a nature reserve is on the doorstep-keen birdwatchers
would enjoy the location. As would artists because there are magnificent cliffs and changing light over the sea.
The Victorian charm of Saltburn is largely unspoilt. From Saltburn a short drive takes you to The North York Moors and the fishing villages of Staithes and Whitby. York, Durham City, Beamish Open Air Museum and Teesdale are within easy reach for a day trip.

Saltburn regularly wins awards in the Northumbria in Bloom and Britain in Bloom competitions. A visit to see the floral displays at anytime in the Spring and Summer is worthwhile.

Location & area

Located on the North Yorksire Heritage Coast, 1.5 miles from the Victorian town of Saltburn-by-the-sea, which is easily accessed by car, bus, bike or on foot.

Although the cottage is in a quiet rural location a pub serving good food is within walking distance 1/2 a mile away or a mile by car. The pub is located on the sea front.

A sunny south facing lounge with French door out to a seating area. A multifuel wood burning stove provides central heating to radiators in every room. There is an electric immersion.


A dining kitchen with a decorative cast iron range. TV, video, CD and cassette/radio in the lounge. An interesting range of books and magazines.


There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom with 2 single beds. Access to the twin room and bathroom is through the double bedroom, however, both bedrooms have private access to the bathroom. The bathroom contains a double ended roll top bath with shower over.
A garden with a summerhouse which has a view of the beach and is ideally situated to view beautiful sunsets.
