Location & area
The flat is conveniently located just across the street from the Tower of London and next to the beautiful and historic Trinity Square Gardens. Just a minute's walk from the Tower Hill tube stop, and approximately three minutes from the Tower Gateway DLR, you'll find this flat the ideal base from which to explore London!
Due to the flat's proximity to the underground/tube station (and being within Zone One and on the Circle Line and District Lines), you can hop on and quickly be near any major attraction in central London: Buckingham Palace, Churchill's War Rooms, Whitehall, Parliament, Big Ben, Kensington Palace, etc.
Just across the street, in addition to the Tower of London, is All Hallows by the Tower, a 1,500 year old church that has import for American as well as British history â William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, was baptized in the church as an infant, and John Quincy Adams, Americaâs 6th President and son of John Adams, Americaâs 2nd President, was married there in 1797. Tours of the church, which are offered free of charge, reveal among other things a 2,000 year old Roman road, part of the ancient Roman city of âLondiniumâ, that ran underneath the present site of the church, as well as Roman and Saxon artifacts.
There are many pubs and restaurants within a one or two minute walk. The Hung, Drawn and Quartered Pub is just across Great Tower Street next to All Hallows (church). There are also three other pubs, a French restaurant (Chez Gerard), a Spanish restaurant, an Indian restaurant, an Asian noodle place, a Pizza Express restaurant, a Subway sandwich shop, and a couple of small family-owned cafes all within a lazy 1-2 minute walk. If you're willing to walk a bit further, you will find a seemingly endless supply of restaurants.
Also nearby (meaning a 15 min walk or less) is St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, St Katherine's Dock, Marina Shad Thames (riverwalk area with more restaurants & pubs), London Bridge, Southwark Cathedral, the Borough Market, Sir Francis Drake's ship the Golden Hinde, the HMS Belfast, & Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.
Shakespeare's Globe Theatre is a pleasant walk across either London or Millenium Bridge near Vinopolis, a wine museum with a lovely restaurant with wine tasting. (The theatre & restaurant are ideal for a unique dinner & show experience as part of a memorable & romantic evening.)
If you walk east about 10-15 min, you'll find yourself in London's East End, & perhaps at Brick Lane which is famous for its excellent Indian food! I highly recommend the Jack the Ripper Walking Tour of the East End, held at night 3-4 times per week and starting from the Tower Hill tube station, 1 min from the flat. St Kathryn's Docks Marina is 5-6 min east & has many shops, cafes & restaurants.

Amenities & services
The flat is equipped with a microwave, oven and stove/hob, fridge and freezer, coffee maker, clothing washer and dryer, plasma TV and DVD player, DVD library (40-50 movies), CD/tape player/radio, CD music library (eclectic mix from classical to country music to classic rock to Glenn Miller to opera to jazz to R&B), small book library (about 40 books), and wireless DSL. The flat rental includes all linens, towels, and cutlery.
This flat is perfect for a single, couple, or small family. There is a UK Double bed upstairs (approximately the same as a US Queen) (see photo). There is also a very large, comfy sofa which is six foot two inches between armrests and which makes up nicely into a twin bed if desired, and a £200 UK double size Aero-Bed available for guests' use. (However, I need to say that the 5 person maximum really means 2 parents and 3 children - the flat, at 500 square feet, is just too small to be used by 5 adults.)

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
