Location & area

The house is just a short walk away from Barnes Station, which is a 17 minutes train ride from Waterloo Station in Central London's South Bank, easy access to the Houses of Parliament, Tate Modern, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, Oxford Street and all the major attractions. Buses stop at the end of the road taking you to Hammersmith for the tube trains – District, Piccadilly and Hammersmith and City Lines, (Piccadilly 20 minutes and Heathrow 40 minutes, Harrods 15). Busses also stop here for Richmond, Putney, Roehampton and Wimbledon. Richmond Park a short ride away provides horse riding, cycling and beautiful countryside walks, whilst in contrast Kew Gardens has a wealth of rare exotic plants. There is a nearby swimming pool and gym for the health conscious and for a more sedentary occupation the Wetlands Centre provides an opportunity to spot many beautiful migrant and native birds. The All England Lawn tennis club museum is open all year and in June or July those lucky enough to obtain tickets, or who are prepared to queue can watch the tournament; a bus taking you “door to door”. If playing tennis is also a passion there are public courts a 10 minutes walk away. If you do not have time on your trip to explore the English Country side Barnes, with its village pond, ducks and old world pub give you a taste of England a short walk away!

Amenities & services

All rooms have been recently refurbished and provide a high level of comfort. Whilst being conveniently close to a major route through London, the house is peaceful and calm. As an additional amenity “wifi” is available throughout the house.

The excellent variety of restaurants and pubs a short walk away add to the enjoyment of our guests stay, Michael and Jill the proprietors of the local pub give a warm welcome to all my visitors.

In the summer guests are welcome to breakfast on the pretty patio overlooking the garden. I serve homemade marmalade all year round (and am famous for it). If the time of the year is right there may also be homemade fig jam – freshly made from our fig trees in France.
