Overview

Rezare Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast offers comfortable, characterful accommodation with an emphasis on good food. Situated within the Tamar Valley on the Cornwall / Devon border, midway between Bodmin moor and Dartmoor, you will be perfectly placed to explore the region's many and varied attractions, which include beautiful walking, horse riding and cycling country, salmon and sea trout fishing locally, stunning coastlines, many places of historical interest, and a strong regional food culture.

Seasonally influenced three course evening meals, available most nights, are freshly prepared by Nanette, who has 20 years experience in the catering industry. We are licensed, and stock a range of award-winning, locally produced wines, beers and ciders for you to enjoy in front of the large wood burner that dominates the dining room / guests' lounge.

Breakfast makes use of the fact that Launceston has an excellent pork butcher who specialises in rare breeds, making their own sausages and curing their own bacon, and the fact that eggs come from our own chickens.

All rooms are generously sized, retain many orginal features throughout, have very comfortable beds and are furnished with practical antiques. Access to our wifi hotspot is available throughout all rooms free of charge.

Location & area

The small hamlet of Rezare is nestled above the Inny Valley, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is a peaceful and relaxed environment which, although only 6 miles from Launceston, and within easy reach of the main roads which connect to wherever you wish to go, is far enough from the rush of modern life to allow you to instantly forget that it exists, and is the ideal, restful base to return to after your days out exploring.



Although no longer a working farm, the surrounding area is entirely agricultural, which means that on the rare occassions that any traffic passes through, it is almost guaranteed to be a tractor. Just 200yds along the road is a dairy farm, and many residents keep their own animals, including sheep, cattle, and chickens. Together with the extensive birdlife, the variety of sound is a joy to wake up to.

Three-course meals are available every evening, freshly prepared by Nanette, who spent 20 years working in the catering industry. The menus, which change daily, make full use of the fact that we have many excellent producers and suppliers of meat, fish, vegetables and cheeses locally. We use seasonal produce whenever possible and use ingredients that speak for themselves; this means that the simple, but inventive, well-balanced menus have no need for over-elaboration. Breakfast takes advantage of the fact that Launceston has an excellent butcher, Philip Warren & Son, who specialise in rare breed pork, produce their own sausages and groats pudding, and cure their own bacon. Orange juice is freshly squeezed, eggs come from our own chickens, and we have a selection of home-made jams and marmalade. As well as the traditional full English breakfast we offer alternatives such as kippers, or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.
