Overview

Mill Cottage is situated 2miles from the market town of Frome, in the small village of Blatchbridge. The cottage was originally the stable block constructed for nearby Blatchbridge Mill. It stands in it's own fenced garden with ample parking for at least 4 cars. There is a patio and garden furniture. Entering the cottage from the back door, there is firstly a large Utility area with a sink, washer/dryer and airing cupboard, ideal for muddy boots after a walk. A door leads from here into the ample sized, very well equiped kitchen with breakfast bar. Also on the ground floor is a dining room/snug with two sofa beds, a large lounge with French doors onto the patio, a very spacious hall and downstairs shower room. Upstairs is the main bathroom, two bedrooms with double beds and one with two singles. Main bedroom is ensuite.All rooms have built in wardrobes and views over open countryside and the river.

Location & area

Blatchbridge is 2 miles from the town of Frome and the River Frome runs under nearby Blatchbridge Mill. Longleat House and Safari Park are 3 miles away, the beautiful Georgian city of Bath is less than 20 miles and Bristol is 25 miles with an excellent zoo, shopping, theatres, museum, art galleries and historic docks area where the SS Great Britain can be visited. There are several golf courses in the vicinity, including one on the nearby Mendip Hills and one just outside the cathedral city of Wells.

Also of interest and within easy travelling distance are Cheddar Gorge and caves, the costal resort of Weston Super Mare with it's Sealife Centre, historic Stonehenge, the lovely National Trust gardens at Stourhead, NE Somerset Steam Railway and the Kennet & Avon Canal with its cycle path. There are plenty of scenic walks around Longleat woods, on the Mendip Hills and around Shearwater Lake.



Frome itself offers a good selection of restaurants, shops such as Marks & Spencer, Boots, Sainsburys etc, a theatre, cinema and sports centre for swimming.
