Overview

Broadview is a quality, friendly, AA 4*, non-smoking guesthouse in the heart of the Lake District, Ambleside. Situated a short stroll from the centre of the village and Lake Windermere at Waterhead, Broadview is perfect for a holiday or short break, whether you need a base for touring or are exploring the fells on foot.

There are 6 comfortable guest rooms, most en suite or with private bathroom, including doubles, twin and a room that sleeps 3. All have TV, DVD player, full tea and coffee making facilities, mini fridge, bathrobes, fluffy towels, and hair dryer along with the little extras to make your stay more comfortable. We also have a king-size 4-poster room for that extra special romantic break.

The Broadview breakfast will set you up for the day whether you are just relaxing or walking the fells. Our menu consists of local meats, free-range eggs and home made breads. Veggies, Vegans and most special diets can be catered for by prior arrangement.

Drying facilities, maps, guides and packed lunches can be provided and free parking is available during your stay.

We are on a main bus route and only 5 miles from Windermere Railway Station (buses and taxis are available from there).

All rooms have colour TVs, alarm clock radios, shaver points, ceiling or tower fans and full tea and coffee making facilites as well as a mini-cooler suitable for chilling fresh milk or that bottle of wine.


The best place to park is a couple of hundred yards past us in the "Low Fold" Pay & Display Car Park near the Mountain Rescue Centre. The car park is free overnight from 6pm-9am.


During the day, we can provide a parking permit for one car per room, this allows you to also park in most South Lakeland District Council Car Parks during you stay (subject to their terms and conditions of course). The Permit must be returned to us on check-out before 10am on the day of departure.
