Torba & Bodrum

Torba, a modern village in the administrative area of the Bodrum Municipality, is a small but notable tourist resort. It has sandy beaches and hillsides richly scented with herbs growing in the wild. There are reminders of the past well worth seeing. A superbly preserved round structure built by the Lelegians more than 2500 years ago, probably a tomb, crowns a big hill overlooking the village, while the ruins of a Byzantine monastery stand on the east side of the bay.
