The Cottage is cleaned thoroughly mid-week and all linen changed.
Kaya Village is one of the rare places where you will truly find the unspoilt side of Turkey and experience real Turkish culture and Village life. It is the perfect place to relax or to explore.
Visit the ruins of a Greek town dating back to Lycian and Roman times, find a hidden Monastery overlooking the Mediterranean, sample Turkish Wine, Cuisine and Hospitality at nearby family owned restaurants or swim and chat with Turkish locals at Gemiler Beach.
Kaya Village remains unspoilt by the mass tourism yet is easily accessible from Dalaman Airport (1hr transfer) and Fethiye Town (8km)
Kaya Village is located around the historic ruins of Levissi. Nearly 2000 ruins lie nestled against the hillside, forming an open-air museum or 'Ghost Town'. Levissi was abandoned following a population exchange between Greece and Turkey in the early 1920's. Exploring the site via worn pathways weaving between houses and churches is a wonderful experience.
The ruins of Levissi were the inspiration for Louis De Bernieres' novel "Birds Without Wings".
Birds Without Wings begins in the early 1900s in an idyllic town in South West Anatolia during the declining years of the Ottoman Empire. It traces the fortunes of one small community in which Christian and Muslim lives and traditions have co-existed peacefully over the centuries.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
