Overview

Owlsland - a 150-year-old farmhouse, skillfully renovated as a charming, simple guesthouse. Friendly, personal service from the owners, who are always on hand.
Set in Bezirgan, a delightful unspoilt Turkish farming village in the Taurus mountains, 700 metres above Kalkan, on the Mediterranean coast.

Set in its own grounds where almonds and fig trees, grape vines and pomegranates grow, its windows look out over the fields to the mountains surrounding the village.
The house has 3 rooms, all with comfortable spotlessly clean beds and modern facilities with constant hot water.

It's the ideal place for a completely relaxing holiday - calm and peaceful, far from the stresses of modern living, yet it's so close to lots of interesting places that it makes an ideal base for exploring.
We offer a choice of Bed and Breakfast (our breakfasts are renowned!)or Half Board, and we pride ourselves on our service to guests.

Location & area

In Taurus mountains near Mediterranean coastal resort of Kalkan, which has the nearest beach (20 mins' drive). Patara, Turkey's longest beach is 45 mins' drive. Easy reach of many archaeological & historical sites, eg Arykanda, Myra, Xanthos, Letoon. An hour-and-a-half from Elmali, ancient Ottoman market town in the mountains.

We have two twin, one double bedrooms, all with private bathroom/wc with constant 24hr hot water. All have views over the fields, garden and mountains. A large shared balcony runs the length of the house, where guests can stretch out on traditional comfy cushions & pillows.Guests have exclusive use of the fenced garden of the farmhouse. We provide towels. The twin bedrooms are large, and can accommodate a child bed if required.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:

  • It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
  • If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
