Overview
If you are looking for something different from the usual holiday villas in Kalkan, then Mulberry House is it. A refurbished country house, set in the mountain village of Islamlar, just 10 minutes drive from Kalkan. The village has a totally different feel from the coastal resorts. Mountain streams run abundantly to feed the nearby trout farms and restaurants, offering fresh fish and traditional local dishes fried goat's cheese and fresh, succulent aubergines. The air is fresher and the views stunning pine forests, ancient Lycian rock tombs and the sea shimmering in the distance. Mulberry House was refurbished only two years ago with respect to the style and traditions of the past. It offers modern yet comfortable accommodation, and echoes the design details that are truly Turkish Turkish rugs and wall hangings, hand made furniture crafted from solid wood sourced from local forests and scattered antiques such as chests, mirrors and pottery.
