Overview

Azahara Playa is situated in Los Cristianos on the south west coast of Tenerife, a mere 15km from Tenerife South airport. It was formerly an apart/hotel and has excellent facilities. As the name suggests it was built to enjoy the views of Playa de las Vistas, which was created with the soft, golden sand shipped from the Sahara dessert. Unlike many of the original volcanic black sand beaches, this golden beach is ideal for family swims and sunbathing. The apartment balcony looks onto the pool, the ocean and Mount Chayofita.

This spacious apartment is a mere 150 metres from the beach and a lift takes you from and down to street level, Calle Finlandia. The other side of the hotel is the Mencey Shopping Centre including an excellent supermarket at 50 metres distance, open from 9am to 9pm (6 days a week). It is superb to shop here if you wish to eat in, as it has a delicatessen, fresh bread bakery and extensive fish counter. A walk to old Los Cristianos takes via San Telmo, a lively terraced district with many local bars and restaurants with spectacular views to the sea. The cuisine on offer ranges from local tapas bars and cafes offering English food to Chinese or Italian. A must is the Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant which you can walk to from the apartment. Not only is the food excellent but the performance of the chef cooking at the table is a sheer delight. On certain days of the week many bars have live music and dancing.

Immediately after San Telmo you will pass the road to the port. Down from here several fresh fish stores are at the entrance, whilst in the port itself are many booths advertising numerous boat trips. Turning up the hill from the port will bring you into the charming and quaint streets of pedestrianised Los Cristianos. There is a large selection of clothes and artisan shops and as you walk onto the square all the main Spanish banks are represented including a branch of Barclays. All this is less than 10 minutes walk from Ocean Azahara Playa.

The bedroom contains 2 single beds and sliding mirror fitted wardrobes. The living/dining area has two comfortable single sofa beds, coffee table, dining table and 4 chairs. The fitted kitchen has a 4 ring hob, microwave oven, fridge with large freezer compartment, toaster and kettle. We also provide TV, DVD and CD/radio player. Guests are welcome to bring their own favourite DVDs and CDs. The apartment also has an iron and ironing board. The bathroom contains a bath with overhead shower, sink and WC. The balcony has a table and 4 chairs with an extendable clothes dryer. There is a laundrette at 2 minutes walk in the direction of San Telmo, which offers service washes.

Smoking is only allowed on the balcony. Linen and towels our provided.

Location & area

The location is excellent as the apartment is situated on the borders of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos. This means that you can walk along the beach front in either direction, either into the posh bit of Playa de las Americas where you will find all the 5 star hotels and very nice bars and restaurants or in the other direction into the more family oriented Los Cristianos with its selection of bars and restaurants, a lot of which have nightly entertainment.
