Overview
The house is laid on three floors providing versatile living space for all seasons. The ground floor is open plan with a new kitchen & new shower room, dining area and a cosy corner with squashy sofas & wood burning stove for winter evenings. The house sleeps six people comfortably with one double, one twin and two single bedrooms. The bedrooms on the first floor, with their own small balconies and sliding doors, share the landing with a bathroom (bath & washing machine). The upper floor has a the forth bedroom with new summer kitchen, study & spacious open terrace with comfortable seating and eating areas. You will look out to find views over the rooftops & trees to Lake Vinuela. The street runs to each side providing on-street parking outside the front door. The village of Periana
Periana nestles up in the hills half an hour from the coast at a height of 500m. It's a beautiful white village with a maze of narrow streets leading to the centre with various cafes and shops. English is not widely spoken in the village but the locals are very friendly. There is no English sports bar! Arm yourself with the phrase book & have a go they will meet you more than half way! The shops are very well stocked for day-to-day living and the cafes very good value to eat & drink (~30 euro for family of five compared to ~40+ euro on the costa). Getting Around
A hire car is essential for your visit though there is a bus service twice a day from Malaga. You will be at the house one hour after leaving the airport. The main dual carriageway runs along the coast intersecting the mountain road at Torre del Mar leading up to Lake Vineula and then onto Periana. Things to do
Given the great location of Periana you have a range of different activities to choose from to make the most of your visit. The house lends itself to lazy mornings on the terrace and a pop to the shop at the end of the street for fresh local produce for brunch. The closest beach is at Torre del Mar which is half an hours drive but we prefer the La Playa Burriana or Torrecilla beaches at Nerja which is a further 10 mins drive. All have a promenade with cafes on the beach and Nerja is a lovely place with the old town a great place to end your day. The towns of Granada & Ronda are historic centres and within range for a day out. Locally there are some smaller villages one favourite being Comares which is perched on the top of a mountain you can see from Periana. The Spanish like their fiestas so keep an eye out for one coinciding with your visit. Within the Parque Natural to the west of Periana there are a range of tracks in the mountains suitable for walking & biking. You can find many picnic areas which often have barbecuing facilities by lakes and rivers surrounded by walks. In Nerja there are the caves to explore & give you some shelter from the sun or maybe even the rain. Local village shops are well stocked and for serious shopping head for the complex at Velez Malaga 20 mins away. There are several water parks along the coast mostly to the West. There is a water park opposite the complex mentioned above open in the high season (June to August). In addition the tourist resorts around Malaga have a range to theme parks most notably TivoliWorld & the Sea Life Centre at Benalmaldena. All easily within range for a day trip. Back to the village for a local favourite- Cafe Verdugo is the centre of the village and provides an excellent Menu of the Day each weekday at 2pm and an evening menu from 8.30pm. For a treat head to Cantueso or El Canuelo- both excellent restaurants with fabulous views of the Lake and a great menus. They are both a 5 minute drives from the house with outside seating areas. More information is available by contacting us or using the leaflets in the house. Climate
It's generally sunny all year round with temperatures of 10 degrees as a minimum & a 32 maximum. In winter the wood-burning stove keeps the house cosy.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
