Nerja is surrounded by the beautiful Sierra Almijara mountains and stunning scenery - our family recently returned from a years stay and we were never short of things to do. The Sierra Nevada for skiing is just 90 minutes away, Granada is a 60 minute drive and the inland lakes are breathtaking. There are beautiful beaches to the East & West of Nerja, those to the East are far more rugged. The award winning beach called 'Burriana' (5 mins drive) is extremely safe for young children, and has a wonderful selection of beach bars & restaurants
