Overview
Casa Sonrisa is on a corner in the centre of Guaro, a typical Andalusian white village with over 2000 inhabitants. Guaro is located some hundreds of meters high in green surroundings on the edge of the Sierra de las Nieves nature reserve, a biosphere recognized by the UNESCO. In spite of its proximity to the Costa del Sol, Guaro is still very much itself and tourists are rare. In the village, you can do your daily shopping, of course (seven days a week!), there are several cafés and eateries, and two banks (with ATMs). In the Summer of 2006, a brand new swimming pool has opened in Guaro. Nearby is a bigger town, Coín, where you can find all other things you might need.
The house was built at the end of the 1980s as a normal home in a typical Spanish style. It was renovated in 2000 and bought by us in 2005 to become a vacation home. At the ground floor, there is a living room and the kitchen. On the first floor we find a two-person bedroom and the bathroom. On the second floor there is another two-person bedroom and a place to work. The roof has a terrace with a fantastic panorama view over Guaro and its surroundings.

Granada (180 km/112 mi) - the last Moorish stronghold in Spain (until 1492) with the world famous Alhambra and lots of Arabian atmosphere in the Albayzín quarter.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
