I think you are unlikely to meet another English family here!
Monachil is made up of lots of little settlements within it. The above picture is the centre of the village, but there seems to be little clusters with a shops, restaurants and supermarkets. There is a bus that goes to Granada city every 1/2 hour during the week, and hourly at weekends. It costs 95 cents each way, and takes about 20 minutes as it goes through all the old villages on route. The bus stop is conveniently located 2 minutes walk from our apartment and takes you right into the centre of Granada.
You can also get a taxi, which costs approx 10 euros and takes around 5 minutes.
There is a new theme park opened with a 26 lane ten pin bowling alley, and games area, as well as American, Mexican, Turkish, Spanish, Pizza and Italian Restaurants. This is just 10 minutes drive from the apartments.
