Overview

Casa Buena Vista is a delightful traditional Spanish cottage with two bedrooms in the scenic village of Saleres in the Lecrin Valley. It has recently been completely renovated, and will sleep up to four adults and two children, as the lounge converts into an additional double bedroom if required. The cottage retains a host of original features including ceiling beams, wooden shuttered windows, traditional decor and a large fireplace in the lounge, in which there is now a wood burning stove.
A big attraction of the cottage is the new south facing roof terrace, on which you can soak up the sun or have a barbecue. This terrace has stunning views over the village and down the Lecrin Valley in one direction, and across in another direction to the Sierra Nevada mountains (the highest peaks in Spain), which are snow capped for around half of the year.

Casa Buena Vista is situated at the far end of the village, on a narrow street (impassable to cars), adjacent to the local fruit farm and overlooking orange, lemon and olive trees. The location makes the cottage very peaceful, allowing you to relax and enjoy the stunning views, and leaving you fully energised to enjoy the extensive attractions of the area all year round

Location & area

Saleres is still a traditional Spanish hillside farming community, and has changed little over recent decades. It is characterised by typical white walled Spanish cottages lovingly tended by their owners, narrow attractive streets along which you are more likely to meet a donkey than a car, ornate lighting and several viewpoints over the surrounding countryside. The village church is particularly attractive, and provides a place to sit and watch village life go by or mingle with the locals.

The village is an ideal location for walkers. The long distance GR7 footpath runs through the village, providing walking opportunities through citrus and olive groves to villages further up and down the valley, or way beyond for those with more energy. There are also some shorter walks from the cottage, providing aerial views of the village and panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada mountains, which are snow-capped from December to May - an unmissable sight whilst standing amongst citrus trees in the warm sunshine!
