The nearby Spanish village of San Pedro de Alcantara is 10km west of Marbella, a short drive to the Sierra de Ronda mountain range, and 20km from Estepona. San Pedro has an abundance of small shops, sidewalk cafes and bars, and there is an excellent street market on Thursdays. Estepona offers sandy beaches, watersports, a wide choice of restaurants specialising in seafood and traditional Andalucian cuisine, together with the fact that the town's development is carefully monitored to ensure that it keeps it's historical and cultural identity.

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
