Cal Baró d'Abella is 1,5 km far from Cardona which is famous for its castle on the top of the hill and its salt mines. In Cardona there are all the useful amenities like supermarkets, shops and restaurants, banks, and a local hostipal too. However, this property is outside of the village, and surrounded by stunning countryside. In the surrounding area there are many interesting things to see and do: for example a visit to a winery to know wine from Pla de Bages or to the Castelltallat Star observatory to know more about stars. Also the Sanctuary and the Romanesque churches and Castles of Bages. The local countryside also provides a wealth of options for walkers, cyclists, fishermen and even mushroom pickers in autumn. There are also local sites & schools for paragliding and rafting for the more daring holidaymakers, golf courses and horse riding. A trip to Barcelona, is just a 1 hours drive away (90km).
