Location & area

The Costa Del Sol still remains to be the best loved holiday destination in Spain. Renowned for its variety of resorts and its all year round sunshine, whenever you decide to visit you can be guaranteed to have a fantastic time. Benahavis is a mountain village situated between Marbella, Estepona, and Ronda, on the southern face of La Serrania de Ronda mountain range, seven kilometers from the coast. It is renowned for its restaurants, and is often called the dining room of Costa del Sol. More than seventy percent of the Benahavis area is officially classified as being of environmental interest. One of the most beautiful parts of the area is Las Angosturas, rich in wildlife and vegetation and ideal for rural tourism, trekking and cycling right through the year.



There are nine golf courses in the municipality. Part of the success of the game of golf in Benahavi's is the wonderful landscape surrounding the courses. These days, despite the advent of tourism to the town, it remains a typical Andalusian mountain village with a rich historical past.



Just off the road to the picturesque village of Benahavi's, the village is built on different levels, carved out of the mountainside with winding roads and streets. Benahavi's is known for its' great choice of restaurants where you can try typical Spanish dishes. There are also a number of small shops and galleries with original artworks. Malaga Airport is one of the busiest airports in Europe, all budget airlines fly to this region of Spain. Car hire is recommended to help get around as the area has so much to offer you would miss all the best bits! San Pedro, an unspoilt charming Spanish town is just a 5 minute drive away, here you will find traditional shops, sidewalk cafes and excellent tapas bars. A short walk down the main promenade takes you to the golden beaches and several chiringuitos (beach bars). A 10 minute minute drive will take you to the millionaire playground that is Puerto Banus, this is the place to be pampered and see the fabulous luxury yachts while sipping a drink at one of the many open air restaurants and bars. Try the nightlife at a choice of alfesco bars, piano clubs and nightclubs whilst during the day this is a shoppers paradise with several of the worlds renowned fashion houses.



Fashionable Marbella is a 15 minute drive away with its great shopping and restaurants in the narrow streets of the historical Old Town. The beaches are excellent and the promenade stretches for miles where there are many good places to eat and drink. Other places of interest within easy striking distance include: Estepona, Ronda, Gibraltar, Benahavi's, Mijas, and many of "the white villages". Andalucia cries out to be explored with its rolling countryside, olive and citrus groves, mountains and Europe�s most Southerly snow ski resort in the Sierra Nevada, less than 2 hours drive away. Add to this historic cities like Seville, Granada, Cordoba, Cadiz and so many more, plus the Mediterranean and Atlantic beaches and you will need to visit more than once. Golfers are spoilt for choice - with some 60 courses to choose from. Other sports and recreational pursuits are equally well catered for - or just relax with a glass of Rioja, enjoy the climate all year round and watch the world stroll by.
