This jewel in the Ocean offers an all year round climate, ideal for all kinds of holiday-makers. There's lots to do during the day and a much varied night-life scene.
The interior of the island has a dramatic extinct volcanic landscape, offering a range of walking opportunities. The mountain villages are worth seeking out. Las Palmas is a 35 minute drive to the north. This is a fashionable city with some distinguished architecture. It is from here that Columbus set sail for the New World in 1492.
