Xativa Excursions and Beauty-spots
Towards the back of the San Felix park there is a trail that leads to the "Nevera" (fridge), a large construction which was designed for storing snow and ice for the conservation of food. Beyond the icebox there is the "Cova dels Coloms", an attractive hermitage dedicated to the Virgin, which receives a pilgrimage and mass on the day of its festivity. In the area there is also an Arabic cistern known as the "Cova de les Gotetes", built inside a rocky cavity that collects water and passes it through a process of filtration. Another of the recommended visit is to the " Cova dels Lleons " (the cave of the lions), which receives its name, according to popular belief, because prisoners were led there to be eaten by lions. The whole area is declared as being of Cultural Interest because it shelters abundant remains of Iberian, Roman, Visigoth and Arabic settlements as well as the walls and towers that lead down from the Castle to the town.

Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
