Overview


The house has a rich history and character, which were influenced by its inhabitants. In the 19th century Casa del Sal was home to salt-pan workers, and in 1965 it first opened its doors to guests. Tradition, a touch of romantic charm and a rustic spirit contributed to the inclusion of Casa del Sal in the renowned consortium Europe of Traditions.

For those who love nature and the sea, we offer comfortable accommodation with an ample breakfast.

We treat our guests to traditional Istrian and Mediterranean dishes, all made from organic home-grown fruit and vegetables, all washed down with a glass of homemade wine.

The stunning view that can be enjoyed from the house opens out on the Seäovlje Salt-pans Landscape Park, where salt is still produced in the traditional way.

The rooms are spacious, with an entrance hall, en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning and a balcony with a view over the nearby salt-pans.



Guests can spend their time in the living room, the spacious dining room or the garden overlooking the salt-pans. There is also prívate parking in the shade available for our guests.

CULINARY SPECIALTIES

We provide our guests with organic, home-grown fruit and vegetables from our garden, home-made jams, olive oil and wine from our vineyards.



We also prepare dishes, which are typical for our region such as polenta e bacala (maize porridge with cod), brodet (fish soup), ombolo (pork fillet), Istrian soup, fish dishes, cured Istrian ham, and many typical local and Slovene desserts: potica (rolled cake with nuts), strudel, cherry dumplings and home-made jams.

We organize activities for our guest's recreation and relaxation:
