Overview

Best points:
- completely renovated (opened in October 2007)

- apartment is siutable for singles, couples, seniors, bussines men (we had guests who arranged bussines meetings in the living room) and also for bigger groups, family, friends and solos, who need more space :-)
- we are confident you won't find such a place for 7 people ANYWHERE in Ljubljana (youth hostel is more expensive than our place when you have all privacy you need)
- internet acces is really useful if you want to work at evenings or plan your next day. All you need is a computer :-))

If you stay 3 - 6 nights rental prices are:
- 1 or 2 people sleeping in small green bedroom: 60 EUR/night/apartment
- 3 people sleeping in large orange bedroom: 75 EUR

This apartment is on 9th floor in 10 floor building.

When you enter, hall welcomes you and offers you sleepers, and coat hangers.

The hall ends with the computer corner for all you who cannot endure without your e-friends, PC, email, internet and more. Computer provided.

The soul of the apartment are spacious and open daily area, dressed in sunny and eternally warm colours connected with functional kitchen, immense dinner table and bright living room. You won't sit on a floor but on a cosy couch or in bright red armchair. At the same time the company around dinner table can undisturbed chitchat.

Everything except bathroom was during this spring and summer renovated. But the bathroom was still in a very good shape. You can use the washing mashine. Bathroom's neighbour is toilet (my wife is very proud of it :-)), so that in full capacity there won't be crowdy in the morning.

There are 2 bedrooms. In small one (green) there is one double bed (140 x 200 cm) and a wardrobe. In the large orange bedroom we put one queen size bed (160 x 200 cm) and one single bed (90 x 200 cm). Of course we didn't forget to put in one big wardrobe with sliding doors and commode. For groups of seven (7) people we have one double spare bed in a living room.

Location & area

Having a car (your own or rent-a-car) is recommended. As well as being a wonderful destination in its own right, Ljubljana is an ideal home base from which to visit other
areas of interest in Slovenia. It is just a short drive to the beautiful lake regions of Bled and Bohinj. In addition, intriguing caves and the dramatic mountain region can also be nice day trips from the city.



Sun and the City Ap. is located:



- 3 km from the centre of Ljubljana where you can go for a walk through historic city centre, visit food market, go sightseeing of architectural and historical buildings, churches, bridges, castle or just enjoy coffee or glass of beer in one of many bars and pubs along the river Ljubljanica.



- close to the Ljubljana highway ring, heading one way to Primorska (Slovenian small, but nice coast) and Dolenjska and the other way to tajerska and Prekmurje.



- 5 to 10 kilometres of the driving distance around the Ljubljana ring from the north and south shopping centres (BTC City and Rudnik).



- Only three (3) kilometres from the Gorenjska highway heading north to the Austria and Italy and Slovenian Alps with some of the Slovenian most scenic places, Bled, Bohinj and ski areas.



- Near the Bakery Lev (Lion) open daily from 6 am to 10 pm



- Near (100 meters) the bus station to the city centre (Line No. 1 is the most frequent bus line in Ljubljana) 10-15 minutes by bus to the city centre.



- For non-cooks: 200 meters from the McDonalds and from the nearest Pizzeria



- App. S&C is near the major food stores Marcator, Hofer, Spar and Tus for those who will use the supplied kitchen appliances.

Your home away from home in Ljubljana

We stayed here with our two children for 3 nights in August and left wishing we had planned more time to stay in Slovenia! Mirjam and Ziga are very gracious hosts who do whatever they can to help their guests, leaving samples of local food (which were great additions to our picnic on Bohinj lake) and answering questions and offering suggestions even before we arrived. The apartment is great: quiet, clean, attractive and comfortable, just as advertised. It is located only 5-7 minutes’ drive outside the city center – we had a rental car and spent our days seeing other areas of the country (Bohinj, Bled, Postojna caves, Predjama castle, Hrastovlje, Piran) and we drove into the city each evening to have dinner and walk around (Ziga clued us in to where the free parking was!) But even if you don’t have a car, there is a bus stop just a block away so getting to the city is very easy. The Spar food store across the parking lot is also terrific – well priced, great selection of items. (For dinner in Ljubljana we strongly recommend Kavalino, by the dragon bridge – excellent Italian food!) I heartily recommend Sun in the City – we hope to return to this beautiful, friendly country soon, and I would definitely stay here again.

This is an apartment located in a very convenient location. Quiet and safe neighbourhood. There is a supermarket across the car park and a bus stop just outside of the car park. Parking is free. A couple of cafes along the main road. There's everything you need in the apartment, including complimentary food and snacks in the fridge. We were met at the apartment by Ziga, the owner, who kindly showed us a map of Ljubljana and gave us directions on how to get to town by bus and even loan us the card to use on the bus. You can top up the value of the card at the supermarket. He also recommended places that we can visit and restaurants too. The apartment is well kept and clean. All the facilities are in good working condition. Free internet access and well connected. Truly a home away from home. Good value for money. We will definitely stay here again.

Very nice apartament in quiet location not far away from the city center (10 minutes with the car), with free parking. The rooms were nice and clean.. Ziga and Mirjam are very nice people and helped us with all the informations for having a nice week-end in Slovenia. Thank you for everything!! ..We will return because from there we can visit all the important places of Slovenia that we missed.

Fantastic Apartment and a Beautiful Country

This apartment was fantastic and we had a great time! It was clean, modern, very similar to the pictures and suitable for all ages. The owners were very nice and gave us lots of help and information about what we could do during our stay. The apartment is very close to the shops with a well-stocked Spar just outside. We often travelled into Ljublijana by bus and this was incredibly easy to do. The apartment also provided us with a fantastic central base by which we could explore the rest of the country without doing too much driving. We went Piran, Maribor, Austria, Zagreb and the Postojna Caves to name but a few. We will definately be recommending this apartment to our friends.

Great place to stay in Ljubljana

We stayed at the Sun and the City for 3 nights in May 2011 and were very pleased with the apartment. Right from the beginning of the booking process, Mirjam and Ziga were very helpful in supplying us with information and advice. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we really appreciated feeling 'looked after' before we even arrived in Ljubljana! The apartment is modern, bright and spacious. The bedrooms are comfortable and there is plenty of wardrobe space. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The shower was lovely and hot and spotlessly clean. The location of the apartment is just right. You can easily catch a bus into town (no. 1 or no. 25) and it was nice to have an Urbana card supplied by Mirjam and Ziga. There is a Spar supermarket right opposite the apartment which is handy for fresh bread, milk, beer and wine etc.. The thing that struck us the most was how quiet the apartments are. There are lots of people living there but there was hardly a sound in the evening. All in all, I would 100% recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Ljubljana.

A hihglight in itself

Yes! We liked this apartment! During our holiday in beautiful and sunny Ljubljana, this apartment was a highlight in itself. Main reasons: it is very spacious and extremely well-equipped!

Additional pro’s are abundant: in the first place the helpfulness of Mirjam and Ziga in answering all our questions, not only in words but supporting with photos as well, and further the personal touches such as all the nice stuff in the fridge, the computer with free internet, the ideal location not to far from the city center and close to multiple highways (easy to reach the apartment after a day of touring in the country), the free parking space, the playground for the kids and the sunny painting and wall decoration in the apartment. The apartment is on the ninth floor of a large but very quiet building and is easily accessible by elevator. It is safe and child friendly and shops and big supermarkets are nearby.

We have seen enough apartments throughout Europe to say that this apartment is far above the average standard and we could not imagine a better choice in Ljubljana. We would definitely stay here again and can recommend this place to all kinds of travellers.

Nicely Modern and Close to Downtown

I stayed here for a week with my 8 YO sons and father and we had a great time. The apartment has two bedrooms (one with a queen bed, the other with a queen and a twin), and has been nicely renovated with hardwood floors and a modern kitchen. The motif is largely IKEA, which worked very well for us. The bathroom facilities are standard for this part of the world: a toilet and small sink in one, and a shower, sink and washing machine in the other. The living/dining area are sun-filled and spacious (and we didn't try it but I guess someone could sleep there), and there is a small balcony. The apartment is about 2 km north of downtown; it's a manageable walk if you want to do it. And it's not problem getting anywhere from there by car. There is also a SPAR supermarket across the parking lot. We had no problem sleeping four persons; and you could get up to 8, but that would get a little cozy. The only cautionary note is that the parking lot gets very full over night. We always managed to find a spot somewhere, but it can be challenging. But you'll probably find that anywhere in Ljubljana. The owners, Ziga and Mirjam, were great to deal with; no contract, just e-mail agreement. They trusted us, we trusted them, and it all worked out nicely. Should the opportunity arise, we will definitely look to stay there again. And Ljubljana is definitely worth a visit if you've never been there.
