Overview

Our Romanian chalet is located in the southern Transylvania mountain resort of Parang. This is the perfect place to spend a holiday in what has been called one of Europe's last "hidden gems".



Relax in total tranquility whilst surrounded by natural scenic beauty, or be adventurous and discover everything that the surrounding mountains and countryside have to offer you.



Only a five minute walk from home is the chairlift station offering easy access to the ski slopes, which are beginner/intermediate in difficulty. Slopes for the more advanced skiiers can be found less than an hour's drive away on the 5km ski track in the resort of Straja. Both resorts offer excellent skiing and snowboarding at some of the cheapest prices in Europe, set against the truly dramatic backdrop of the Transylvanian Alps. The season usually runs from early December to late March.



Some beautiful year-round hiking trails can be found in the Parang mountains, in the immediate vicinity of the house. Galcescu Lake, the largest of one of many glacial lakes in the region, can be found on the Parang mountains at an altitude of 1925m. It has been declared a national monument due to its outstanding natural beauty.



The nearby Retezat National Park offers excellent hiking in spectacular surroundings at altitudes of upto 2509 metres.



Our modern fully-equipped kitchen makes food preparation a breeze, and for your convenience we will endeavour to supply some essentials for when you arrive. But not everybody wants to cook whilst on holiday so fortunately a restaurant offering delicious local cuisine and superb wines at ridiculously affordable prices can be found less than a 2 minute walk away!



Whatever your reason for loving the mountains, we are confident you will find it in the Carpathians.
