Location & area

Monte Samoqueiro is a traditional farmhouse, recently rebuilt and refurbished with three double rooms available for tourism (B&B). The maximum capacity for six adults ensures a quiet and peaceful stay - no busy hotel corridors or noisy neighbours... just the sounds of nature to wake up to.



Because it is located in a Natural Park (Nature Reserve of the Southwest of Portugal), this part of the country has remained practically unchanged for decades. You will feel like you have traveled back in time when you arrive Brejão.



The pace in the small "aldeia" (hamlet) is still as slow as it used to be in the days when people didn't have traffic jams or mobile phones. The warmth and "laid-backness" of its people and the 300 days of sunshine in the year make this already beautiful Coast even more special, adding to the wonders of the Natural Park with an incredible biodiversity that include many endemic species of fauna and flora - from the Iberian Lynx to rare bird and flower species. The geology of the Southwest is no less amazing, with an immense variety of minerals and rock formations that sculpt the most rugged and poetic views.



This is the place to come to if you are looking for a place to rest and relax, reconnect with yourself and nature. During your stay, you are most welcome to borrow our fishing rods, bikes or donkey - and we do encourage you to take part in that good old tradition of the "sesta"... preferably followed by a caipirinha as you rock gently to the sounds of nature in your hammock and build up your appetite for dinner...
