Overview
The ground-floor apartment is situated in a prime location facing the main pool in the middle of the Old Village. Despite this, its location is very quiet, as the pool and bar close at 8pm and there are no roads in front of or behind the apartment. Please note that there are 10 shallow steps from the pool path up to the entrance.
The Old Village is one of the premier areas in Vilamoura, with attractive buildings, cobbled streets and well-established gardens that are maintained in pristine condition. Restaurants, bars, supermarket (open 7 days) and two more swimming pools are within a few moments' walk. The Old Village in particular, and Vilamoura in general, are especially suited to family holidays and golf holidays.

Adequate time is required to clean the apartment and since cleaning cannot start until early afternoon, it is essential that the premises be vacated by 2pm. Entry is not before 6pm.

Cleaning/towels/linen/maid service
Indoor towels and linen are supplied, but please bring your own pool/beach towels. The property has a towel and bed linen change once a week please arrange a day ant time to suit you with the local agent
Notes on accommodation
The Old Village is particularly suited to children and golfers alike.
The terrace room can be closed off by the windows and French doors, without spoiling the splendid view onto the pool and forms an ideal for outside eating at any time of year.
Old Village
There are three communal pools on the Old Village one still to be opened at end 2005/early 2006. The gardens around the apartments are a highlight of the Old Village and are well tended, with many bougainvilleas and other flowering shrubs. The Old Village lies between the 10th and 12th fairways of the Pinhal Golf course
Coast/Beach
The marina and beach is an easy 20-minute level walk from the apartment. At the marina there are facilities for boat trips, sailing, paragliding, deep-sea fishing, hire of jet skis, etc. The main Falasia beach is one of the largest stretches of beach in the Algarve. As well as being accessible on foot, it can be reached by a regular bus service. If you are renting a car, there is covered parking at the beach. There is a very pleasant walk along the beach, passing beach-bars and restaurants, from the marina to the fish market at the edge of Quarteira. There are also 2 water parks nearby.
Local agents
We use local agents to look after the apartment in our absence and they also are available to help all those staying at the apartment. They have an office within 100 yards of the apartment and will supply the entry key, as well as:
Arrange bed linen and towel changes after one week.
Arrange car hire and/or airport transfer.
Arrange golf bookings at reduced rates and transport to the course, if necessary.
Provide local information and maps
Deal with any problems relating to the apartment.
Golf
Vilamoura is famous for golf and there are 6 courses in the immediate area, as well as many others within easy reach along the coast, making it an ideal base for a golf holiday.
It is worth noting that it is much cheaper to book golf through booking agents than to pay directly to the course itself and our local agents can undertake bookings for you, at very reasonable cost.
Distances
Quarteira is about 3 km from the Old Village and remains essentially Portuguese, with a large market every Wednesday and a fascinating daily fish market.
Loule town is 20 minutes by car and has a weekly market
Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Largo are also about 20 minutes by car more golf courses, some splendid mansions owned by football and film stars and a Nature reserve with many marine and water birds.
The mountain town of Monchique is less than an hour away, with some spectacular mountain scenery and walks.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
