Overview
The cottage is a pretty, detached, traditional stone building which has been fully renovated to provide comfortable two bedroomed accommodation to sleep six people. It is situated on a quiet country lane on the outskirts of a small and friendly village.
The rear garden area has a 9 metre stone threshing circle, which is a great place to relax, read a book, sunbath or BBQ (provided). Because of its elevated position you can enjoy far reaching views of the surrounding countryside. There is also a circular above ground 4.5mt (90cm deep) pool and a toddlers paddling pool.

Location & area
The local shop is two minutes walk and provides for all your basic needs. It also has a small bar where you can enjoy a glass of local wine for 25cents! The town of Ansiao is only five minutes drive and has all the amenities you would expect from a market town including a weekly outdoor market on a Saturday morning. Various restaurants in the town offer good food at reasonable prices and of course, children are very welcome.
The cottage is ideally situated for a relaxing break or for exploring the many and varied places of interest to visit in central Portugal. The university of Coimbra ( one of the oldest in Europe) is of interest for its architecture and the city for its shopping. Another place we highly recommend you to visit is Tomar, headquarters of the Knights Templar in Portugal since the 12th century. You don't have to be a history buff to enjoy visiting this facinating fortification and its picturesque old town which is a UNESCO world heritage centre.
The world famous pilgrimage centre of Fatima is less than one hours drive away. To the west lies the blue flag beach of Osso da Baleia, with miles of broad white sandy beach and pine forrest picnic areas. To the east you can explore the highest mountains in Portugal the Serra da Estrela region.
Whatever you are looking for you will find it here in beautiful central Portugal. Happy Holidays!

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
