Overview
Quinta das Sequoias in Sintra is a very charming manor house nestling in a majestic forest of centuries-old redwood trees (sequoias), in the heart of Portugal's lovely Sintra region.
The hotel/Guesthouse has been refurbished recently, and all its rooms are tastefully decorated in period antiques.
Bed- and bath-suites are in fact furnished from the owner's antique collection.
The characteristic manor-style dining room includes an enormous hearth and fireplace that was the part of the original 19th century kitchen, and the trellised patio, the terraced garden and the pool offer you spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and of the Pena Palace.
Quinta das Sequoias in Sintra has managed to retain its homelike and cosy atmosphere, and a stay here is a peaceful and private experience for our guests. Please note: minimum booking 2 nights!

For more than six centuries Sintra was the summer residence of the kings of Portugal because of its mild climate and densely wooded hills - still unspoiled!
Fantastic palaces and villas sprang up, giving Sintra the uniquely romantic, aristocratic feel it has even today. The list of sights in and around Sintra is long: castles and monasteries, palaces and parks, museums and gardens........

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
