Overview

Quinta Velha meaning "old farm" in Portuguese has been lovingly restored. Old stables and cow barns have been transformed into a delightful country home, standing in all its own grounds. There is enough off-road parking available.

Four apartments have been created; Papoula, Girassol, Jacaranda, and the fourth is for the resident owners use, Yvonne and Eddy. An ideal property for large groups of 10 to 12 people renting the 3 apartments at once. In its elevated position it has spectacular views across the surrounding hills, which offer some lovely walking country for the more energetic visitor. As you leave the main road you will drive through orange orchards that in the spring fill the air with the scent of their blossom, while close by the local vineyard invites you to taste their wine, well worth a visit.

Guests are very welcome to use the purpose built barbecue next to the swimming pool for that all important al fresco eating. The extensive grounds are completely fenced and offer a safe environment for young visitors. For our very little visitors we have an inflatable paddling pool and swings in the garden.

Apartment Jacaranda:
Jacaranda is fully furnished to a high standard and has a unique split level lay out. It sleeps comfortably 2 people, plus 1.

The accommodation consists of:
- 1 large double-bedded room
- 1 large bathroom with a raised, corner bath (including shower), toilet, bidet and in each corner, a his & hers wash basin with mirror and lights.
- Dining area with large table and 4 chairs
- Fully equipped open plan kitchen with fridge freezer, microwave, full oven and hob, dishwasher.
- Lounge area has 2-seater sofa and 2 matching easy chairs + a double sofa bed, an enclosed Salamander log fire ensures a cosy apartment for winter lets.
- Freeview Satellite TV and portugueses channels, DVD/CD/Video player, Radio and a selection of DVD/VHS video films to suit all tastes.
- Private entrances with easy access from front and back terraces.
- Wireless Internet (WiFi) access.
- All linen including towels and duvets are provided.
- Large coloured towels are provided for sun beds by the pool, but we would ask guests to bring towels for the beach.
- Iron & ironing board can be used in the nearby laundry room
We have several facilities that cater for families with young children:
Baby walker / Travel cot / Baby Alarm / Buggy / Potty / High Chair / Toddler toilet seat / Small supply of books, toys for the under 5's / Professional on-site baby sitting service is provided (free of charge) for well behaved babies

- Weekly maid service can be provided if requested at a charge.
- A complimentary welcome pack will be in place on your arrival (milk, orange juice, honey or marmalade, butter / margarine, ham/cheese, bread rolls, bread for toast, 6 eggs, tea bags, instant coffee, sugar, biscuits, fresh fruit, 4 cans Coca Cola, 6 cans beer, 4 cans Sprite/Seven Up, 1 bottle red & 1 bottle white wine, initial supply of toilet rolls/paper towels)
- We are happy to meet any special requirements if you let us know.
- We ask visitors not to smoke inside the apartment.
