Overview
One of the most privileged positions in the region, if not in Portugal. All you are likely to hear is birdsong and the gentle rush of the cascades! The house is built of solid stone, and looks down a beautiful wooded valley, with lots of wonderful walks. The kitchen/sitting room is open plan, with satellite TV, DVD player, hi-fi, microwave, fitted hob/oven, fridge and full equipment. The downstairs bedroom has bunkbeds, the upstairs a double bed (and veranda), and is right next to the shower room. All rooms have radiator, and the sitting room also has log fire. Free use of washing machine in outhouse. A large patio has bbq and seating, with those wonderful views. The 12-metre pool is fed by a spring. The water passes through 200 metres of black tubing, to emerge warm. The 1.5 acre gardens are a delight, and bordered along c. 120 mtrs by a series of tumbling waterfalls. Japanese-style soaking tub in walled garden. Petanque court. Free use of 2 mountain bikes. Many places to visit in this lovely, unspoiled part of the world, and great swimming in the lakes and rivers. Not far from Coimbra and the Costa da Prata. Refresh yourself away from the madding crowds, and experience a little authenticity instead of the usual tourist rip-off haunts. You'll return home wondering why this part of Portugal remains 'undiscovered', but very glad that it isn't!

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
