Location & area
De Liemers has an abundance of opportunities for its residents and tourists. It is the ideal starting point for walkers, cyclists, nature and culture lovers.
In the town of Duiven you will find the TOP (Toeristische Overstap Punt Tourist Transfer Point) to start your cycle or skeeler routes round De Liemers and Achterhoek. One of these routes is called the Duiven Art and Culture route, a beautiful signposted cycle route taking you past monuments, works of art and historic places in Duiven, Groessen and Loo. In the town of Zevenaar you will find many historic buildings, including De Panoven, which is the first Dutch brick and roof tile museum, and De Buitenmolen, the oldest tower mill in the Netherlands.
Arnhem, the capital of the province of Gelderland, has a rich and eventful past, partly preserved in a number of historic buildings such as the Maarten van Rossemhuis (also called Duivelshuis Devil's House), Sabelpoort and Presickhaeffs Huys.
Restored to their former glory and joined underneath one of the shopping streets, the 40 medieval cellars show you what underground Arnhem used to look like. Guided tours are available to the public as are individual visits. The history of the town is reflected in the town centre itself as well as in 100-year-old Sonsbeek park, where you can take a rest in the heart of the town! The Church of Eusebius dominates the skyline. This late Gothic ogive basilica boasts a unique glass lift, rising to 73 metres and offering you a view of the attractive shopping centre. On your way up you will also see the biggest carillon in Europe!
Arnhem has been one of the 10 most attractive shopping areas in the Netherlands for years, boasting a range of large chain stores and little clothes shops. A fashion town in many ways, Arnhem has something for everyone.
Veluwe is virtually synonymous with woods, heathlands, space and quiet. However, it also boasts river forelands and country life, hills, valleys and sand drifts, historic towns and attractive holiday villages, the Randmeren and unique attractions. Situated between the Rhine, Randmeren, Gelderse IJssel and Utrechtse Heuvelrug, Veluwe is one of five regions in the province of Gelderland. Its location between rivers and lakes makes Veluwe an area of natural beauty with a wide variety of landscapes, flora and fauna.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
