Overview

This beautiful cultural historic apartment is situated in the heart of the centre of Amsterdam on the Prinsengracht, the cosiest of all canals. It's right in the midst of the 'quartier culinary' of Amsterdam. The apartment is on canal level (so no stairs to walk) and has been renovated completely and was finished in December 2006. Throughout the apartment all kinds of historical cultural elements have been brought into view so you truly dwell into the history of this old house which was build in 1715. The beams and the walls tell their story and the apartment even features an authentic escape hatch that has saved the lives of 3 Jewish people during the Second World War.

The apartment is over 40 square meters, fully furnished and self contained. It has a double bed, living room, dining table, a fully equipped kitchen, flat screen cable TV with DVD, stereo and a washing machine. The bathroom has a big shower, toilet and a big bath for two people. Wireless and cable internet and espresso are inclusive. We provide bed linen and towels. Cleaning on arrival and once a week is included in the price. For more cleaning we charge an extra fee. It is necessary to arrange this in advance.

It's near the corner of the Prinsengracht and Utrechtse Street, the culinary street of Amsterdam, the tram stops 20 metres from the apartment and a taxi stand is very nearby. You overlook the Amstelveld which features a wooden church that was build by Napoleon!! It's a very sought after and safe area where one finds a nice blend of the Amsterdam upper class and Amsterdam randomness. Here liveliness and peacefulness go hand in hand.

we've been coming to amsterdam for xmas/new year for 13 years always staying at hotels, until we found this fantastic apartment ( this will be our 3rd year here). it's perfect in every way, peaceful, romantic, ideally situated with a cheese shop, off licence, the best cake shop i've ever seen, convenience store and coffee shop all within 200 metres ! the owners robin and stefano really make you feel welcome, they let you get on with your own thing, but are always available if you need them. we really cannot recommend this apartment highly enough. i think if you stay here once you'll never stay anywhere else ! a place to chill out.
