Overview
The owners are leaving three bikes for you to use, two have child seats.
The lovely Prinseneiland is the oldest part of Amsterdam. The ships used to be repaired here. It is fairly central, to the west of Amsterdam Central Train Station and close to the Westerpark, the renowned Noordermarkt and the Haarlemmerstraat with its specialty food shops. The owners are leaving three bikes for you (two with child seats) which you can use to cycle to the Dam within 10 minutes. But, to be honest, this island has such a unique atmosphere that you don't have to go anywhere. There are wonderful renovated buildings and workshops. Many artists and young families live here.
Your house is on the ground floor of a 17th century building. There is a spacious living room with an attractive sitting and dining area, and a fully-fitted kitchen. The patio doors at the front open on to the street and the water side, the back part of the house consists of two bedrooms, one double and one with bunk beds. The bathroom with a bath and a shower is in the middle.
You can get to the communal garden via the bedrooms, but you also have your own small private garden with a patio and garden furniture.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
