Right on the sea front, In the most antique part of the city, are the apartments, facing a picturesque pier and next to the Cathedral. They are part of an antique palazzo, the construction of which dates back to the XVI century, on the ruins of an old Roman site.
At 54 metres above sea level, the apartments grant a beautiful view over the Tropea sea scape.

Location & area

Tropea stands on an imposing standstone cliff, in a charming position between the Gulf of Sant'Eufemia and Gioia Tauro, and is one of the most artistically interesting and picturesque centres in the Vibo Valentia province.



The area stills holds traces of ancient prehistoric settlements, alongside buildings and burial passages dating back to Greek and Roman times. Tropea has one of the best preserved and most beautiful historical centres to be found in the entire region.
Must sees include the XI century Norman Cathedral, the Church of San Frencesco and Santa Maria della Neve, and the evocative Santa Maria dell'Isola, which rises at the foot of the city on a strip of land which projects towards the sea.



The most ancient city centre stands on the so called “belvedere” terrace, from where can be admired the transparent, deep azure sea, which infringes on the jagged cliffs and the pure white beaches; all this natural beauty is surrounded by undulating hills dappled with citrus groves, vineyards and olive groves.



Finally, but by no means least importantly, the region is renowned for its delicate hand crafts and its gastronomy – in particular its seafood.
