Location & area

This fortified town, is born on the sea, and takes his name from the deposits of Poseidonia, erroneously called algae, that form on the sandy shores.
Alghero's old town, laid towards the sea, presents characteristic architecture and
Evocative spaces, that make it a real jewel in the island.

“Barcellonetta” (little Barcelona) this Is how the local affectionately call Alghero.
