Overview
This small group of apartments used to be a farm so at every turn you can see the signs of its agricultural heritage. The former farmhouse and apartments have been sensitively updated and renovated to give good quality accommodation with plenty of thought going into what makes every member of the family happy.
Two of the apartments are all on one level which makes it perfect for little ones who like to wander around. The living room is light, bright and has been decorated to a high standard. The views are gorgeous and they give you a sense of true seclusion. The main door from the living areas lead out onto a fabulous private patios with table, chairs and barbeque, from which you can enjoy those views to your heart's content.
The bedrooms lead off from the main living area. The twin beds can be made into a bunk beds or a double bed, and a cot added to the rooms as necessary.
The bathrooms are large, complete with a powerful shower and a towel rail. The kitchen is fully fitted with all the equipment you are likely to need including kettle, toaster and a microwave. There are several patios and lovely pergolas outside each apartment making it a perfect setting for privacy, but if you want to socialise this is possible too. It is located in an interesting area both for its beautiful countryside and also because of its depth of history in neighbouring village and towns. The beach at Lago Trasimeno (a local lake) is only 15 minutes away.
The layout of the apartments makes it ideal for one or two families holidaying together or perhaps several generations of the same family enjoying quality time together. This is a place where all guests can recharge their batteries whilst taking in all the local culture. Closeby to Assisi, Perugia and Sienna it is a great place to stay. Within 90 minuts you can reach Florence or Rome by train.
The owners, Helen and Steve, are warm and welcoming hosts and are on hand to answer questions or to provide some top tips on how to get the best out of your day. They will also guide you in your quest to learn about the region and how to make the best pizzas; the weekly pizza making evenings are a real hit with guests. Helen`s range of delicious home cooked meals allows you to decide when to have a night away from the kitchen. Alternatively, make use of their local restaurant suggestions and babysitting service to have a `grown-up` evening!

Location & area
Northen Umbria is a wonderful place to stay. The local market town of Umbertide (10 minutes away) has many of the conveniences of a slightly larger settlement and includes a doctor, dentist, bank, cashpoint, supermarket, restaurants and a tourist information centre. Every Wednesday there is a market which sells fresh fruit and veg from the local area.
Nearby Passignano, Lago Trasimeno is the place to go for a bit of gentle, relaxation. We would highly recommend packing a picnic and your swimming costumes and preparing for a lazy morning by the lake.
The beach near the lake is a good place for restaurants with fresh fish. Alternatively, approximately 1 ½ hours drive away is the coast. Italian beaches tend to be very well organised (like those on the Cote d'Azure) with sunbeds, showers and cafes .
The surrounding hillside towns and villages provide plenty of culture. The small town of Arrezo is well known for its Etruscan origins. It is a beautiful hilltop town and is produces some of the most beautiful gold jewelry in Italy. For a leisurely morning or afternoon's activity you can take a stroll around the wooded hillside paths around the stone-walled terraced fields and hazelnut orchards which lead down to wild grass and flower meadows with olive, cypress and walnut trees. Alternatively if you are there in the autumn go out chestnut collecting and take them home to roast in the chestnut roaster! You may even see a wild boar roaming about or spot the deers running in the fields.
Outside of the summer months there are some wonderful traditional festas (local village fairs). During May in the nearby town of Gubbio there is the racing of the Ceri (candle) when the various quarter of the town compete to carry a wooden candle to the top of the hill. If food is the one thing that is guaranteed to get you excited where better than Umbria to indulge yourself in fantastic local produce? After the peak of the summer spend some time collecting olives and tasting the fresh oil and woodland truffles. In Perugia, mid-October is a great time for those who love Chocolate as it hosts the annual Eurochoc festival. There are events all year round that revolve around some of the most stunning produce that Italy has to offer, including wine tasting, mushroom and truffle hunting to local cooking lessons.

Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
