Overview

THE PROPERTY - The typical Tuscan farmhouse with two independent apartments for rent (the Barn for 4 persons and the Stable for 3 persons) dates back to the mid 700’s and was the caretakers and farmers house to the Main Villa situated in the land behind. This property has been owned by the same family for over three generations. Today its structure has been renovated maintaining the features of the typical Tuscan farmhouse, but at the same time also creating a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere for all its guests who wish to be part of the silent countryside.

THE TWO APARTMENTS TOGETHER SLEEP 7 PEOPLE. A communal swimming pool is available.

THE BARN IS FOR 4 PEOPLE - The old Barn has been renovated maintaining its characteristic wooden structure and stone arches. Suitable for a family of 4, this high ceiling space has a large entrance dining area, a lofted master bedroom, and a changing room with bunk bed leading to the bathroom. Access to a furnished external covered area, ideal for aperitifs and barbeques. (Sleeps 4)


WEEKLY PRICES 2007:
The barn: min Euro 632, max Euro 1023.
The stable: min Euro 552, max Euro 793.

Final cleaning is Euro 50 for the barn and Euro 40 for the stable.

Location & area

The farmhouse is located in a small country village called S. Lorenzo a Vaccoli, just outside of Lucca direction Pisa.
Lucca, "The city of 100 churches", is only 5 Km from here, and is one of the most characteristic Italian cities. With its still intact medieval walls it can be visited for a pleasant walk or a bike ride.

The historic centre has maintained its facet as it was in the medieval days of Elisa Baciocchi Bonaparte. Its exquisite Piazzas and Palazzos, form Piazza del Mercato (old roman amphitheatre), Piazza San Michele and Piazza del Duomo, are a must for anyone who comes to Lucca.

In the hills surrounding Lucca one can admire the beautiful villas of the old local aristocracy, such as la Reggia di Marlia, Villa Mansi and Villa Torrigiani, typical examples of renaissance architecture, with their extremely well kept parks.



Pisa, one of the historic Italian Marine Republics, along with Venice, Amalfi and Genoa, is only a 20 minute drive through the hills surrounding Pisa. One cannot forget to mention The Piazza dei Miracoli, and the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
